Hi folks, well the summer is finally been and gone,I mean here and for some of us its time to play different types of music that fit the summer groove.Or maybe not, maybe you prefer to be an all year winter tunes sort of person...I personally love certain tracks that remind me of care free summer days in the past and these tracks usually consist of pretty cheesy music to be sure.
My favorite winter tune was a toss up between Rag n Bone mans album and The rolling stones Blue and lonsome. Both albums had that feel good factor needed to fill up the winter days and nights and give a bit of hope in regard to spring time...I am really into my reggae at the moment and I have a large selection of early ska, reggae, rock steady albums all on the soul jazz label for sale at Longwell records. They are such an important thing to have in my own collection as you can learn so much about where this fantastic music came from and how it influences stuff today.
We have plenty of live music coming up in Keynsham this week with the Keynsham music festival starting off today and ending on Sunday 2nd July with tons of live music, comedy, etc in the park all free of course. If you have never been to the Keynsham music festival now is the best time as it is the 20th year and to help celebrate they have special guests Bread over bombs heading all the way from Los Angeles. They have produced one album which is self titled and available for sale on Vinyl or CD at Longwell records. All proceeds from the album sales go to local food banks.Input on this album was from Tony Visconti no less!!!
Anyway thats it for now and please come visit us at the shop where we have tons of fresh stock just in,new and second hand...cheers Iain
